One of the founders of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.

Currently, Larry Lester serves as co-chairman of the Negro Leagues Committee for the prestigious Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), in Cleveland, Ohio. This committee also hosts the annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference in selected cities, providing a presentation venue for scholarly papers and academic research.

The Negro League Baseball Players Association (NLBPA) exists to honor and celebrate the significant contribution of Negro Leagues players to baseball and American history, to collect and preserve that history, to educate others so that Negro League players may be a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come, and to support and promote the general and financial well being of former Negro Leagues players.

BUFFALO SOLDIERS MUSEUM BUFFALO SOLDIERS MUSEUM


The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum (BSNM) a non-profit 501(c)(3) institution was founded in the year 2000 by a Vietnam Veteran and African American military historian, Captain Paul J. Matthews. The museum's Historian is Dr. Franklin D.B. Jackson, a highly decorated Vietnam veteran. Currently, Richard Barefield, Historian and former member of the United States Air Force, serves as the Museum's Chief Docent. The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum is a proud member of the Houston Museum District. We are the only Museum dedicated primarily to preserving the legacy and honor of the African-American soldier, in the United States of America. The museum is also a proud member of the Greater Houston
